Ey, you want to go get a coke. Meh I rather procceed to the nearest protest.

The Controversy that encroaches my day’s thoughts is the constant rally of today’s issues, and how it is getting to a point of a useless debate and going away from a constructive protest. This image for example is a joke but relates properly that these protest are becoming immature and senseless, and that a simple statement of , “down with this sort of thing” compares properly to many protest that are going around the subject and not confronting straight forward.

On the other hand this can be taken by a different point of view, that the act of protesting to sum is a joke, which could hurt the whole attitude of the protest. Having a sign like this at a protest, for example peace, or bring the troops home, is looked at as a direct form of disrespect to a noble cause. It hurts the identity of the protest with careless messages like this one and many others.

Most of all, this has become a trend to put a hindrance in the protest that they feel is wrong by standing among the protesters holding a sign that basically boils down to, “I’m with Stupid->->”. Although incredibly funny, attacking some group on there personal beliefs is never a smart judgment and using this method to get there point across is just plain childish.

  1. When i saw this picture, i didnt know what to think of it. But after i read your blog i can see where your coming from. It does seem like if it were in a "bring the troops home" protest it would cause drama and would be seen as a joke. I liked your blog, good job

  2. is it bad that this picture made me laugh when i first saw it? ha ha. anyway, so many people get angry over little things and want to make a big deal out of it. i think this image could be controversial to people who protest often, or people who protest about bigger things, like peace.
